Good news at last! Hubby expects he will be home Thursday, and should be around for a week! He does have work to do, but at least he will be home. The boys have been constantly asking me where he is, and when he will be home. It sounds like they have even more contracts now, which is just crazy... he needs a break so badly. Hopefully we can have a chance to talk about vacations while he is home, since he gets 6 weeks, we should really start planning now.
We did have our quiet weekend here, the boys didn't even get dressed until the afternoon on Saturday, and then only because Grandma and Grandpa were coming over. Speaking of Grandpa, Little Man now says Bapa!!!! It's strange, but all the boys have called him Bapa until they are about 2, and then they switch to Grandpa. So, Little Man would not have heard this form of Grandpa very often at all. Unfortunately he has also started saying 'No', oh the joys of a toddler LOL.
Today we went to church for Palm Sunday, which isn't really the most enjoyable experience for me. In truth, I don't really like attending church these days. I just find that I am so busy with the boys that I don't have a chance to hear anything... and then I have to wonder what the point is? I wish there was a way to somehow get my boys to actually sit still... actually it's not too bad if Bug doesn't come, that boy does not know the meaning of quiet and sit. But, that is not something that is really an option, either we don't go, or we all do. At least Hubby will be home for Easter Service this coming Sunday.
Looks like the weather will finally be getting warmer! It is forecasted to be in the low teens (°C), so the snow should be melted away within a few days... which means I shouldn't need to shovel off Hubby's side of the drive way! There is about a foot of snow on his side, just didn't really see the point in shoveling it when his car would not be moving. But with him home later this week, he will need to get his car out once in a while.
I am off to watch Simpson, and Family Guy, then off to bed. I have actually had two decent nights of sleep, but still feel very tired. Hopefully tonight is also a good night.
The last few years I have fought hard for my kids, which will never stop. But to help C and H through school issues, and to support P through cancer, I have somehow left myself behind. I have let my self go... and I need to find her again if I'm to keep fighting for my boys!

A busy few days
After a way too short visit from Hubby, who unfortunately wasn't even home 24 hours, it seems we have been go, go, go! Yesterday I took Monkey to the pool, first time we have gone in a very long time. He did so well! He usually gets very upset, and will cry for most of the time in the water. He has always taken time to adjust to new things, but being in the water has been an on, and off kind of thing. So, I was pleasantly surprised at how much he enjoyed himself. He didn't even flip out when his face would accidentally go under the water, which was always an issue before. The pool at the Y is really nice, the one we spent time in was a variable depth pool, so it came to just below Monkey's armpits. Afterwards I went to Costco with him, where he was really good. He was perfectly happy playing with my iPod touch.
Today I took Bug to the pool, now that boy was sooooo excited! He was also much more work then Monkey LOL, he was just everywhere in that pool. I sometimes forget how he is without his brothers around, probably because I have had little time with just him. He chattered non-stop, moved non-stop, and just had an absolute blast. He worked really well on kicking his legs, and even got his arms and legs going together a few times. When the free pool time was up, we went into the big pool for another 15 minutes, and he was just as happy there. After that he came and helped me get some shopping done, he was just as excited to do that as swimming LOL. I also forget how much that boy can chatter.
We have a fairly quiet weekend planned, the weather isn't going to be all that great. So, I picked up a few movies for them to watch over the next few days. We also have some crafts to complete, and some plants to transplant. More than enough to keep us going till school on Monday.

I LOVE surprises!
I was hanging out on the couch reading The Swiss Family Robinson to the boys this afternoon, when all of a sudden I heard the front door open (I always keep it locked). Next thing I hear is Hubby asking if anyone was home!!!! Oh My Gosh!!! I rushed off the couch, along with the boys, and ran for the front door. I cannot tell you exactly how Happy, and almost overcome I was at that moment. First to just hold him, then to see how happy and excited our boys were. Little Man wouldn't let him put him down at all. Of course, it only took the boys a few minutes before they looked to the suitcase and ask what was in it.
I will admit I was curious too, late Monday morning Hubby called me 3 times in about 10 minutes to talk Pashmina's, which is what I asked for. I remember asking him why he was doing it so late that night, and he commented that he had all week, but just wanted to get it done. I now know that he already planned to fly home the next day. The boys got some very nice carved elephants, something more too look at then play with. Two beautiful cushion covers, and a very lovely, very light weight, dark green Pashmina for me.
Back to the lovely sneaky Hubby LOL. The day before his Birthday, he warned me that he was tempted to turn his phone off so that no one could call to wish him a Happy Birthday. He is not entering his 40's with perfect grace, not like I blame him one bit though. So, even though the boys, and myself, were disappointed that we couldn't talk to him on his Birthday, I wasn't really all that surprised. I was surprised when I still couldn't get through to him last night, and especially this morning. At that point I was beginning to worry a little bit, as I'm sure most of you would too. Hubby tells me that he had originally planned to be home yesterday afternoon, but missed his connecting flight at Heathrow. It would have been wonderful to spend some time with him on his actual birthday, but I'm just glad he is home now.
When he walked through that door, I was really hoping that since he was home early, that he would be here for the weekend. Unfortunately he is flying down to New Mexico tomorrow afternoon, for an undetermined amount of time... most likely till next weekend. But, I will take any, and all time with him that I can. If he doesn't have much work in the morning, I will keep Paxton out of school. I think it is much more important that the boys spend as much time with him before he leaves as possible.
I now have a few loads of laundry to deal with, which I will do while watching one of my shows. And then I will be heading to bed early, I have Hubby to snuggle with tonight! Here are pictures of the cushion covers, and the elephants.

Toddlers and Spaghetti
What is it with toddlers and spaghetti??? Little Man had a fine time of it today LOL. His face was orange from top to bottom, even some of his hair had changed colour. He also figured that it must be easier to eat if he just puts his face in his plate! I truly wanted to tell him no, but the smile he gave me coming up from the plate was just too adorable. Of course the older two boys thought it was rather funny, which also made Little Man want to do it even more... if only I could put blinders on them at the table, maybe they would not see the craziness that their brother is pulling!
With the orange faces, bath time was a must tonight. I find it much easier to bath them in my tub, which is a corner one with a seat. Their bath is just a little too tight for the 3 of them. Monkey and Bug both enjoy sliding down the seat into the water, although now that Little Man is in with them, it has been somewhat curtailed, but not totally eradicated. I guess Little Man has been watching closely though. He got onto the little seat, and came down saying Whee with a big smile of his face. Now, he doesn't slide down, just steps down the same way he comes up... but to him it is a slide like his older brothers. He just looks so proud of himself after he has done this, melts his Mama's heart.
Other than that, it will be another quiet night here. I have a chai tea simmering on the stove, it smells so good. I will mop the floors first, and start the diapers... then sit back, and relax!

Happy 40th Birthday Hubby!
Well, Hubby is now 40 years old... well sort of... almost... LOL. In India he is 40, but here in Canada he would still have a few hours to wait. I don't think he would mind waiting either, I suspect 40 is going to be a little difficult for him. I have spent a good chunk of the day sending off e-cards to him, so far I have sent him 25 cards!!! My Mom sent 3 off, and supposedly the SIL's are going to send some.. but they haven't let me know how many yet! I would love for him to have a total of 40 e-cards in his mailbox waiting for him... thankfully he is very far away, I'm sure it will annoy him to no end to see all those emails LOL. But, it serves him right for being gone so long.
I made a video of the boys singing Happy Birthday to him, which of course I sent. I also let them stay up a little bit later than normal (8:00pm), so that they could wish him a Happy Birthday on the phone. His phone is off though, so the boys left a message singing Happy Birthday. Hubby had threatened to keep his phone off for the day, but I really didn't think he would go through with it. It is now 9:15am in India, and his phone is still off.
Whatever Hubby is doing right now... I wish him a truly wonderful day. The boys, and I, can't wait to bake him a cake and help celebrate his birthday when he does finally come home!

Rules
I am going to try implement rules here in our house... I need something more concrete for the boys to know what is/isn't expected of them. They aren't awful, but they seem to have the typical listening issues that most pre-schoolers do... so I'm hoping that having specific rules in the house will help them know what is allowed. There isn't anything crazy about the rules, mostly just basic things that need to be followed. I also didn't just decide them, we talked about this after dinner tonight. I will type them up, print them, and put them somewhere that they boys can see. Here is what we have so far.
Have I mentioned how happy I am to have our Nanny?? She comes part time 3-4 mornings/afternoons a week... a real life saver for me! This week I have her scheduled so that I can start taking a Yoga class at the local YMCA Monday afternoons. I am also going to be taking the boys, one at a time, to the swimming pool. With plans to live on a yacht in a few years, strong swimming skills will be a necessity! Bug, and Little Man will do just fine I think, Monkey will take some time... he's always needed a little time to adjust to things.
Monkey had a fun night at Grandma's last night, she took him home after coming here for dinner. She then took him to Tai Chi in the morning, and then took him painting with her. He did some very nice paintings. I would post them, but still having problems with downloading from my camera, and Hubby's computer has died (I suspect the power supply fried), which is connected to the scanner. If I feel up to it, I might just bring the scanner/printer to the kitchen and hook it up here. What is it with electrical things acting up when Hubby is away?
I was able to talk to Hubby this morning, he had spent the day riding around on the motorcycles again. I'm glad he actually has some time to see things, usually on these trips he gets very little down time to enjoy things.
Oh, I watched Twilight last night!!!!! I have read the books multiple times... yes I LOVE to read LOL. It took me a little to get into it, but in the end I did enjoy it. It's always hard to watch these movies when you have your own visual of how you expect characters to look/act. Once I got adjusted to their interpretation of the characters, I was able to enjoy it. I will watch it again one night, and hopefully do so without comparing.
- No hitting or biting
- No screaming or throwing fits
- Do not be rude and disrespectful (Corbin has been getting an attitude lately)
- No goofing off at the table
- Do not throw things (toys, food, towels, etc) in the house
- The pantry in the kitchen is off limits (I have caught Bug eating brown sugar in there)
- Do not take other people's things
- Be polite, say please & thank-you
- Toys must be put away before you can have dinner

Hubby's day off in India!
So, it was a Holiday in India today (or yesterday for him now LOL), which meant no work for Hubby. He, and Ken (an employee from the Newcastle Office), rented motorcycles for the day to head out of Chennai. They headed South to Mahabalipuram, a resort town 60km away. Sounds like he finally had a nice time out there! The pictures of the beach where they had lunch look absolutely wonderful... especially compared to the lovely snow I am presently looking at. He also made it to a few temples as well. I'm glad to hear that he is finally enjoying himself, he hasn't had much of anything nice to say until now.
Oh, he did get into a little trouble shortly after heading out on the bikes. He got caught speeding!!! Although sounds like it was easily sorted out. He says it was a pay right now kind of ticket, so 300 rp later (under $10), he was on his way LOL.
Here are the pictures he sent to me. Editing to mention that Hubby is the one with the sunglasses!
