I swear I see the light!!!

At the end of the tunnel that is!  My house is finally coming together, it's just a matter of actually cleaning now.  I can't tell you how good it feels to finally feel on top of things around here again.  I can also see using my newly revamped office/sewing space now, it just never felt welcoming before.  I also have a plan for getting all the craft stuff for the boys out of my eating area!  It will be nice to let them work on some crafts without having my table over run.  I hate the rush of clean up when we need to sit down and eat, and just hated seeing the mess that it would leave.

Another day and I will be much happier... the fact that I get a nice weekend with P is helping my outlook too ;)  Also highly anticipating attending James & Anthony's Halloween bash Saturday night... Actually looking forward to wearing fake blood!

Slacking on my blogging lately!!!

I have been such a blog slacker lately! It just seems that life has kind of taken over, which in many ways is not a bad thing. The house is slowly getting organized, still lots going on though. Painting should be done in a few days, the doorway to Little Man's room is in, and I even have a door to my bedroom. There are still a number of updates that I would like to do, but they can wait a few weeks to a month. Right now I just want to fully settle in, and enjoy things for a while.

For myself, I am doing really, really well. I haven't felt this good about myself in more years than I can remember. Don't ask why I did this, but I tried my wedding dress on last week. Within just a few months of getting married 13 years ago, I started gaining the weight, which means I have not been able to put it on since that day. Well, it fits now, probably better than it did all those years ago. The only real sentiment I felt wearing that dress, was that my good friends mother made it. When the divorce is final, I will decide what to do with it... maybe a wedding dress burning bonfire???

I did get out for some fun this past weekend, how wonderful that was! I love my boys completely, but it is nice to feel like a women as well at times... an attractive, hot one at that ;). I'm sure you will all agree that having a man look at you in that certain way is one hell of a boost to the ego! And I got some major ego boosting this weekend. Now to just work more of that time in.

Soccer for the boys started last week, their first organized sporting event. I can't even explain just how excited they were. Bug took to soccer like a duck to water, that boy certainly loves to run! Corbin also had a blast, it will be good for him to participate in activities like this with his friends. It was also a nice chance for me to meet some of the Mom's & Dad's, which is hard at school pick-up and drop-offs. I will be seeing these people many, many times over the coming years, and would like a good relationship with them.

Speaking of house and soccer, I need to get some laundry going, and get ready for Bug's soccer practice!

A semi lazy day.

The day hasn't been a total wash, just a little bit LOL. I did vacuum the lower level this morning, and this afternoon I took a bag full of toys, and 2 boxes of misc items down to a local charity shop. I still have more that I would like to take there, but it feels good to get some things out of the house. I also got my shopping done, sans kids... it's amazing how shopping can be relaxing without the kidlets trying to help LOL. Since then... well... not much else has been done LOL. I will get around to folding laundry while I watch my shows, and if that doesn't take long I will start to pack up my bells. I don't really want to pack my bells away, but I need to de-clutter the shelves in the living room... so packed up they shall be!

In some ways I feel like I am avoiding today, it makes it easier to forget that we will lose so much if we sell this house. A few short years ago, even the thought of losing this much money would have sent me into panic attacks... mind you a few short years ago, we were heavily in debt, and struggling to keep our heads above water. Now that we are stable, and only the mortgage for debt, it is slightly easier to swallow. That doesn't mean I have to like it though!

Tomorrow I will not be able to avoid, to many things to get organized before the weekend. Things to plan, things to order, things to organize. I can't wait until life slows down a little, so that I can enjoy it more.

Feel like I am trying to do too much!

I am just so tired by about 7pm these days, I barely move after getting the kids to bed. I am spending my days trying to placate the kidlets, while at the same time organizing, tidying & de-personalizing!!! It feels like a constantly upward battle. I did fairly well with our bedroom, managed to go through all the clothes. I ended up with 2 bags of baby, maternity, & regular clothes for donation. One box for our Nanny for her 10 month old. Another bag of garbage, mostly baby clothes that was just too damaged or stained. And another pile of maternity clothes that I will take for consignment.

Presently I am going through my sewing room, getting rid of material, odds & ends, (about 1 bag of garbage so far, a few piles for some friends), and in general trying to make it look nicer. The next battle will be the toy room. I am going to have to put a lot of their toys away while we are showing the house... who knows, if they don't notice it missing, I might just get rid of it permanently! After that will be the pantry, which shouldn't be too bad. Then it will be the easy rooms, front living room, front hall closet, Hubby's office, dining room, and main living room. Those rooms mainly need a quick de-cluttering, but are otherwise in decent shape. I will hopefully get through it all by next weekend, which is when Hubby will be heading back to the UK for a week or so.

My Mom's party is coming along nicely. The invites will be out tomorrow, and I am already talking to bakeries about cakes. I have also talked to a few of the ladies attending to see if they can help me with some baking for the party. The final guest list is at 115 people, hopefully not more than 80 end up coming through. I did ask for RSVP for the dinner to be held at 6:00pm, there is just no way to guess how much food to have available. Next week I need to contact some companies to rent some glasses, plates, and napkins. I would like this to be as classy as possible.

Well, there ends my break LOL. Off to finish the sewing room.

Being Ruthless!

Well, I finally started to go through my boxes of books yesterday... and so far I have 2 + boxes of books that I will be taking to consignment. I still have 2 boxes to sort through as well. I do have a number of books that are too ratty to make it to consignment, still not sure what to do with those. If feels strange to be doing this, I have been collecting my books for 14 years now. But, I don't see much point to having them around, especially in boxes, when I would just have to get rid of them when we move again. This at least frees some room up.

We are all still a bit sick, I'm half tempted to not take Monkey to school today. Little Man has quite the cough going on. Guess I will just see how Monkey is feeling when I drag him out of school.

Time to run, and make some breakfast for me and this kids.

Oh, Hubby got the pipes going again, and thinks he found where the issue is. Hopefully he can get it fixed up before the next freeze.

Organization

I have made a small dent in the household disaster today, I can slowly see an end to the disorganization. I even got the balls to actually go through some of the toys, and pack it up. I will take another night (or two) to decide what I am going to do with it... and I'm sure there is more I can get rid of. I'll post some pics of the removed toys when I am done, should make for a much easier cleanup for the kidlets.

Tomorrow is Bug's 3rd birthday, I really wish he would slow down! Although I also wish he would hurry up, and grow up a little... he is just so wild some days that I don't know I get through it all. I really hope he calms down a little bit soon. Hubby is in San Francisco until late in the evening tomorrow, so we will be having Bug's Birthday dinner on the Thursday. And of course there is the Birthday Party Saturday afternoon. So far I only have 5 kids coming, but haven't heard from everyone yet either. It should be an interesting afternoon.

Just getting my thoughts out.

So, I have a lot to think about tonight, and the next few months as well. The more I think about homeschooling the boys, the more I think it is the right decision for us. It will require more organization from me, and some extra sacrifices, but I can't think of anything that outweighs the positives.

My biggest stumbling block in this whole enterprise will be my organizational skills... which I will need to seriously work on. I need my house to be organized, and ready to go for a project like this. Which means I have a lot of tidying, cleaning, sorting that needs to be done.

I should probably do a list, which is then prioritized, and scheduled. I may just actually get things done this way!!!!

Now off to hopefully get some sleep... my dreams have been very strange, and unfortunately very realistic lately.
