Spring Has Arrived!

About time too! LOL It was a wonderful 13°C outside today, with the sun shining down. After naps this afternoon, we all headed outside to the yard for a little fun. It was good to see the boys just have fun, without the constant fighting that I am used to hearing. I hope we have many, many more days like this... it makes me feel so much better. I of course have a picture overload, I'm thinking this will be common for the foreseeable future.

The boys, and I, really didn't do much of anything today. Watched a little TV, played some games, music... pretty much just hung out. I was trying to figure out what to make for dinner tomorrow, my Parents, Japanese Sister, and her family, are all coming over for dinner. Shortly after 3pm, my Mom called me up to say that Grandpa wanted to know if I would like to the boys to come stay the night!?!

I started stuttering at a loss for words, trust me, this does not happen often. She said that I could think about it, of course I quickly stated that I didn't need to think about it, but to ask the boys... knowing full well that they would LOVE to spend the night at Grandma, and Grandpa's house. So, here I am in my big house, all alone! This is a truly rare occasion LOL. I think the last time I had the house to myself like this was June of 2008. I quickly had a shower, and packed the boys up. Dropped them off about 3 blissful hours ago LOL. I haven't done too much, picked some books up at Chapters, had dinner at Sushi Boat, and now am sitting here with a Chai.

I will shortly get the house tidied up, and then maybe do some reading. I am looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow, and hopefully straight through as well. This will allow me to get some housework done in the morning, start dinner, and shower, all before the boys are brought home around Noon... of course my Parents will be staying till dinner... so I at least will have company, and help.

Made it to the Zoo

Well, we actually made it to the Zoo today... left the house a little later than I would have liked, but at least we got out the door. The weather was perfect for a day out, didn't have to dress up all that much. The best part was how nice and quiet it was, much easier to see all the animals... at least those ones that were out and about.

What amazed me the most was how well behaved I felt the boys were. Both Monkey, and Bug listened well, stayed close to the stroller, and didn't run off. By the time we left, they were getting a little tough to manage, but not as bad as it could have been. For their good behaviour, I let them each pick out a stuffed animal from the gift store. Monkey picked out a Flamingo, and Bug picked out a nice little Tiger. We had fun chasing the boys with the flamingo after dinner tonight.

Otherwise it was an uneventful day. I did enjoy not having to rush out the door for school, makes me almost think I should pull the boys out of pre-school now... but I do want them to finish the year. Here's some pics from our time at the zoo.

What is going on!!!!

I had figured since the weather is still so nice out, that we should head to the Zoo. I asked the boys to clean up the toys, while I was getting the kitchen in order... I'm sure some of you can guess what happened next. Thirty minutes later (and there was not that many toys out) I got tired of telling them to clean, and informed them that we were not going to the Zoo if this is how well they are going to listen!!! Again, I'm sure you can imagine the reaction, the screaming, the joy! It really did not make for a pleasant beginning to our afternoon. I am going to try for tomorrow, I've talked with the boys multiple times about what I expect before we leave.... let's just hope they listen!

I am starting to get excited about Homeschooling! I will be attending a Convention in Red Deer mid April, there should be a lot of information to help me get started. The best part is that I will be going with a number of friends, who will all be starting Kindergarten this fall. The fact that I will be there without Hubby and the kids is also contributing to my enthusiasm LOL.

We had a really nice sunset today, I was able to get outside to take pictures every 10 minutes or so. I did kick the boys outside for a good chunk of time this afternoon, no point in totally wasting a beautiful day.

Not the best day around here, but a good weekend.

Well, this day has not exactly gone so well. The boys are snuffly, and I am now feeling a bit crappy. Because of the sniffles, I didn't make it to the gym this morning... but considering I don't feel so great myself now, I don't mind all that much. I did manage to get a few winks while on the couch this afternoon. Little Man seems the most affected by this, he was positively miserable this afternoon. He finally went for a second nap around 2 this afternoon, and thankfully was a happy little boy when he woke up around 4. Not sure I could have handled much more of his crankiness!

We had a very nice weekend here, the weather has been unseasonably warm! It got up to 14°C (57°F) yesterday!!! So, we took advantage, and went sledding in the afternoon. Hubby and I didn't even bother with coats it was so nice out. Monkey still wouldn't go down the hill, not sure why he doesn't want to do it. Bug of course was all over it! He loved going as fast as he could, and also getting the jumps at the bottom of the hill. Thankfully he will now bring his sled up by himself, so we can just wait at the top. Afterwards we went to my Parents for dinner, along with my Japanese sister, her husband, and their little girl. She is such a cutie, and the boys love playing with her.

Saturday we had some friends over for dinner. It was the first in a very long time that we have had friends over for dinner. They have 2 boys similar in ages to Monkey and Bug, so the noise level was fairly high, but they all had a good time. I am going to have to plan more evenings like that, we have a great house for entertaining, but don't entertain much!

Otherwise, not to much crazy going on around here. I am pulling Bug from School this week, the last few weeks of fits and fights have just been too much for me. Hopefully it all settles down soon.

Not too much going on the last few days, just hanging out and trying to stay warm! We did make it to a local play place yesterday, the boys all had a blast. It also gave me a chance to really play around with the camera. I love that I can take so many shots, and then just delete the ones that don't turn out.
