It's always a little sad to take the Christmas stuff down and get it ready for storage... also sometimes makes me wonder why go to the trouble of putting it out for a month a year??? Now that the Christmas season is over, it will give me a chance to finally finish getting the house set up they way I want it to be. I would love to have it painted, but the expense is an issue... and just not sure I am up to the job myself.
I have curtains for two rooms (the master bedroom, and the front living room) to be completed, as well as finishing touches that need to be done. I am also going to be clearing out toys this week, they really don't need all that we have, and I hate the clutter it creates! Some of them I will sell, the rest will head off to goodwill.
It is also time that I started watching what I eat, it has been getting a little out of hand lately. With Little Man being 1, and no plans for anymore little ones, it is time to take back my body. I will start with small changes, and then progress through out the year to get where I want/need to be. I'm still working on setting up my weight loss blog, but should hopefully have it up and going by tomorrow. I should also have the house sorted out well enough in a few days to devote some time to exercise!!!!
The last few years I have fought hard for my kids, which will never stop. But to help C and H through school issues, and to support P through cancer, I have somehow left myself behind. I have let my self go... and I need to find her again if I'm to keep fighting for my boys!

Quiet house....
I have just had the longest night of sleep in more months than I can remember! The house is also quiet on a level that I don't think I have heard before, and last night the music was louder and heavier than has been heard in a long time. LOL Maybe you can figure it out, but I'll tell those that can't.... There are no Children in this house right now!!!!!
Yesterday morning we dropped our boys off at Grandma and Grandpa's house for the weekend. As much as I miss them, I also am enjoying the freedom to just do as I wish for a little while.... it's not often I get this kind of freedom. Hubby and I didn't do too much yesterday, although I am extremely happy to say that we got Christmas lights for the house... solar powered ones at that! Last year I was unable to convince Hubby that we should get some, so I am looking forward to the day he gets them up.
I have gotten a bit done for the fabric stash challenge, and am working on some blankets to go in the car. In some ways I find it hard to work on the things that will use my stash up as I have so many things/projects that I need/want to get done that don't require the use of my stash. My big goal is to get the curtains for our bedroom (6 panels) done, as well as the ones for the front living room (2 panels). Now that we have a nice couch and chair in that room, I really want the curtains done to finish it off.
Well, I should get a little work done around the house before Hubby finally gets up for the day. He is thinking we should head to Banff today, and possibly stay for the night. I am really looking forward to another child free night with hubby!!!!
Here's a picture of the crochet hook holder that I made.

Sewing and colds
Well, it's that time of year again.... Halloween!!!! Spent my morning sewing up the boys costumes. Monkey is going to be Captain Flamingo, Bug will be Fireman Sam, and Little Man will be a Monkey (rather fitting too LOL). It's going to be interesting walking down the street Friday night.... if that is we get to go! Poor Bug sounds so hoarse today, a bit like a frog. I just hope they are well enough to attend their school parties later this week.
I haven't done a lot of sewing the last few months, just nervous about using the machine with Little Man crawling around. It went a lot better than I could have hoped for! He wasn't really all that interested in coming into the sewing room, so didn't have to worry about him getting underfoot. Hopefully this means that I can now start to get some work done during the day, I have so many projects that I need to complete... and even more that I would like to start.
I do have one project that I want done before Christmas, and that is recovering a couch... again! I covered this couch 8 years ago, and here I am about to do it again. We decided that with the economy right now, it doesn't make sense to spend money on furniture. So, guess I am stuck fixing up the couch, I really, really dislike the cover that I made for it previously.
Wish me luck in getting the costumes done tomorrow!!!
